Have you ever been at a
Korean supermarket, and wondered
what all the drinks in the chiller were?
Well, today we'll be telling you about
some of the best non-alcoholic drinks
to quench your thirst!
Let's get it!
1. Boricha (Korean Barley Tea)
If you've been to a Korean restaurant,
you would definitely have had barley tea!
The drink is a refreshing complement to any
meal, but is also perfect on its own.
It's also the perfect introduction to
the next drink, which is...
2. Mccol
McCol is a roasted barley tea drink with
a twist - it's carbonated!
It certainly sounded like a strange
combination, so I wanted to give it a go!
I tried this drink for the first
time the other day at The Gogijip,
and I actually really liked it!
You should check it out!
3. Banana Milk
Another classic Korean drink is
Banana Milk, and it's definitely one of
my, and many Korean's favourites!
The drink was first introduced as a way
to get the public to drink more milk,
and it worked - it is believed that over a million
bottles of banana milk sold every single day!
4. Milkis
If you like sweet flavours, you'll
also love Milkis - a deliciously refreshing
combination of yoghurt and fizzy soda!
It's one of the most popular drinks in Korea,
and it spawned multiple flavours and
competing products, but we still like
the original one the most!
5. Bong Bong
Do you like Qoo, the grape drink that
many Singaporeans enjoy daily?
If you do, imagine Qoo with actual
grape-bits that you can chew on!
Its iconic can-shape and color means
that you can surely (and quickly) spot it
at any Korean supermarket!
6. Sikhye
Another popular drink is Sikhye,
which also come with grains of
cooked rice in the can!
It's a beverage that has a long history,
but modernized for our current times!
The drink is also known to be a great
digestion aid, so make sure to drink it
after a heavy meal!
7. Bacchus
Finally, we have Korea's answer
to Red Bull - Bacchus!
You might have seen recent commercials featuring
the drink, but did you know that the drink
has been around for a long time (since 1963)?
