Yes, you heard us right - HALAL Soju!
After watching K-Dramas in her free time,
Sovi from Indonesia created a fully halal soju,
named Mojiso!
“This Mojiso drink is not soju like the one in Korea.
The ingredients are 100 percent different.
That’s why it's halal,”
Sovi told Indonesian newspaper Kompas.
She was reportedly inspired by the
food and drinks shown in the dramas,
leading her to create a halal version.
After learning a mojito recipe from a friend,
she then experimented with potential
halal soju recipes.
She has developed several flavors,
including yoghurt, lychee,
green tea and strawberry.
Marketed as 'Korean Sparkling Water,
it's obviously non-alcoholic, but is sold in
the iconic green soju bottle!
A bottle is being sold for Rp 45,000 (US$3.06).
Unfortunately, the drink is not available in Singapore yet.
