Are you looking for something to fill time while on your morning commute? Or perhaps you're just bored at home and want to pick up a game to play? Well, you're in luck! Today, we will go through some mobile games that Koreans play!
Here's a list of the top mobile games that Koreans are playing right now!!
1. KartRider Rush+
Even Koreans that don't usually play games know about the KartRider franchise, which is why many were ecstatic for a new installment in the franchise - one for mobile! I remember playing KartRider years back, and the new game brings that experience in the palm of your hand - with social features expected of a mobile game of this generation.
People who wish to show off to friends can also find a myriad of customization options - included license plates for your kart, outfit choices and pets! After the disappointment of Mario Kart Tour's 'fake multiplayer', people are eager to play a fully fleshed-out mobile racer at launch!
It is probably the most popular game in the list, and is one of, if not the top Korean mobile game right now!
2. Stardew Valley
With the Animal Crossing fever sweeping the world and Nintendo Switches going out of stock, many are looking for an alternative for their cultivation fix! In a similar vein to Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley is also a low-stress relaxing simulator, but with a clear goal and storyline.
As per CBR.com's comparison, 'Both games offer players a sense of accomplishment, though in different ways. In Animal Crossing, players will be able to help their islands grow as new stores and houses are built and more villagers move in, while in Stardew Valley, players will watch their crops grow and their neighbors warm up to them over time.'
Stardew Valley is one of the top games in South Korea for its relaxing gameplay on mobile!
3. Fallout Shelter Online (폴아웃 쉘터 Online)
Released a week ago, this sequel to the ever-popular 'Fallout Shelter' quickly became one of the most popular games in South Korea! The concept and style of the game are similar to Fallout Shelter - in the way that the player still plays the role of the overseer of the vault and manages its resources. but unlike the original game, a plot and online battles were added to the delight of fans.
The addition of a plot and online gameplay makes it a much more complete game, and it is fittingly one of the top mobile games in Korea!
4. Pocket Build
A game for the creators and the builders in every one of us, Pocket Build's sandbox-style gameplay allows for creative expressions unlike any other game. Being an open world game where you can build with no limitations or restrictions, it reminds us of games like Minecraft, but in a more stylized and polished art-style!
With a huge list of assets to build with, it offers a creative outlet in all of our hectic lives - right in the palm of your hand!
5. Lineage 2M
Korea is a hotbed for MMORPGs, and the Lineage franchise might be one of the biggest and most recognized the world over! Lineage 2M is a direct sequel from the Lineage II game on PC, and as expected for a game in the Lineage series, the game will be set in a massive and seamless open world for players to explore. The game proved to be extremely popular in Korea, and has generated over $152 million in revenue in less than three months since it's launch. That makes it the highest-grossing installment in the Lineage series.
As far as we know, the ground-breaking game has not been localized to Singapore yet, but you can find other Lineage games on the app store to tide you over and satisfy your MMORPG fix!
That was our list for the 5 TOP Mobile Games in Korea - there are a lot more, but we picked the ones trending in Korea now!
