‘Korean Oscars’ Winners!

The 2020 Baeksang Arts Awards, the 56th instalment, is also known as the ‘Oscars of Korea’, and like its American counterpart, it honours outstanding achievements in movies, television and theatre in South Korea! 

The show featured repeat hosts Park Bo-Gum, Suzy and Shin Dong-Yup, and proceeded without a public audience due to the coronavirus situation, with the award nominees sitting in spaced-out chairs which reminded us of a final exam setup.

For movies, Bong Joon-Ho’s ground-breaking film Parasite was the front-runner for multiple awards, including ‘Best Picture’, where as Crash Landing on You and Kingdom were gunning for top spots in the television awards.
