SG NCT Fans Vs. The Straits Times??

Some K-Pop fans in Singapore started a peculiar movement around this time last week, when the #straitstimesisoverparty hashtag started trending on Twitter.

The community backlash started because of an article posted by the Straits Times - Singapore’s biggest newspaper, about NCT member Jaehyun’s involvement with the recent Itaewon incident involving several K-Pop celebrities. Fans of NCT did not approve of the choice of cover picture used for the article, as well as lamenting the Straits Times’ choice of publishing an article that was detrimental to the NCT member.  

Following the trending hashtag, regular folk  and local celebrities alike chimed in with their opinions, with many finding the situation absurd and laughable.
