Travellers who miss flying on planes
might be disappointed to find out that
Singapore Airlines will not be following in
the footsteps of other airlines to offer
'flights to nowhere', flights that depart and
arrive at the same location!
This is due to a market study, where the
environmental and financial implications
of such a trip made it unfeasible to do so.
Instead, Singapore Airlines will be offering
the opportunity for customers to dine on,
and explore what goes on behind-the-scenes
of their leading Airbus A380 aircrafts.
Dubbed Restaurant A380 @Changi,
customers will be served lunch in a
cabin of their choice among the
double-decker aircraft.
The menu served includes SIA's
signature international cuisine,
as well as a special Peranakan menu
designed by a Singaporean chef!
The experience also includes a showcase
of SIA's historical cabin crew uniforms,
as well as tours of the SIA training facilities,
where members of the public can take a
look the training that is required before one
can call themselves an SIA staff member.
For an even more premium experience,
one can choose to have food from
Restaurant A380 to be delivered to their
homes, with menus designed by
world-renowned chefs on SIA's
International Culinary Panel.
These meals will come with
First/Business class amenity kits,
as well as limited edition dining ware,
crystal glasses and even sleeping suits!
A private chef may also be on hand to
reheat, plate and serve the meal in
the customer's homes!
Will you be taking this 'groundless flight'?
