South Korea loves its variety programs, especially idol audition shows, and it definitely loves its video games as well, being the world leaders in video games such as League of Legends and Starcraft!

What do you get when you combine the two together?

In a BRAND NEW audition program, 'LoL the Next' features trainee rookie players from professional Korean teams, as well as others with no formal gaming background, but did well in the Korean solo-queue scene.

They will be guided by 4 legendary retired League of Legends players, each of which with extensive World Championship experience which they can impart to the rookie players.

In a country crazy for e-sports, the series will prove to be a hit among the younger generation.

Only applicants with a Diamond 1 account or higher was considered, equivalent to the top 1 percent of players.

About 1,000 people signed up during the 11-day application period, and 120 passed the documentation round. These were whittled down to 40 people who made it onto the program.

The $88.9 million LoL (League of Legends) Park Arena in Seoul.

They will compete for a spot in a final 5-on-5 match at LoL Park Arena in Seoul, which will be televised live on September 13.
