The BBQ House
The Gogijip is not just known for their BBQ. The restaurant hosts authentic Korean chefs, and that means that along with the gourmet barbecue comes succulent Korean dishes.
The BBQ House (더고깃집)
Rice ball (주먹밥/饭团)
First is Punch Rice, the dish that is very appropriately named because it packs a punch full of flavor. The name also relates to how the dish is made, squishing rice into a ball by squishing the sticky rice with your fist.
Made by your self (수제 주먹밥/自己做的饭团)
When the dish is ordered, it is commonplace for the restaurant to just provide the sauce and ingredients. Then your job is to mix into big or small balls of rice. Usual ingredients are diced pickled radish, dried seaweed flakes, tuna or chicken breast (pulled)
Chicken Feet Stew (국물닭발/炖鸡爪)
have you tried the stewed chicken feet?, It comes with a creamy steamed egg to help cool off the spice, because you’ll definitely need it.
Steamed Egg (계란찜/鸡蛋羹)
Chicken feet stew is popular with the ladies as a “sweat detox” meal, meaning it’s not too heavy on the calories and you will sweat out a lot of toxins. You have been warned, it is definitely not for the light hearted.
It's Spicy but Cool (시원하게 매운맛/辣味)
Soy sauce marinated crab (간장게장/酱蟹)
The soy sauce marinated crab is to die for. Sauce makes it the perfect companion for rice. The soy crab has a nice and savory kick that distracts you from the smell of the fresh water. In Korea, people like to enjoy the dish by mixing rice into the shell of the crab.
Spicy Marinated Crab (양념게장/鲜辣蟹)
There is also a spicy version for those who are up for the challenge. To enjoy the fresh crab meat, just squeeze it out like you might have seen in a Korean drama. Once the shells are empty, mix the rice in and you’ll definitely leave the restaurant full and satisfied.
Tender Juicy (속이 꽉찬 / 丰富的肉汁)
Hopefully this gives you a better look into the numerous other options the BBQ house has to offer. BBQ remains their signature, but don’t miss out on the other hidden gems.
