‘Parasite’ Wins Best Picture Oscar!!!

In addition to the coveted title, the horror flick also picked up the Oscar for ‘Best Director’ for director Bong Joon Ho, along with ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ and ‘Best Original Screenplay’!

⁣After having its world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, it also unanimously won the Palme d’Or, becoming the first Korean film to receive the award. Along the way, the film garnered critical acclaim among movie-goers and critics alike!⁣

Support for the movie and its director flowed in from Asian filmmakers and stars alike, owing to the film’s achievement of breaking through Hollywood’s tendency to only feature English films made in America. South Korean President, Moon Jae-in, also released a statement yesterday afternoon, saying that he was proud of the crew for the win.⁣
