Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori & Rain Are SSAK3!
Last month, South Korea's 'Nation MC' Yoo Jae Suk fielded an interesting proposition for Lee Hyori on “How Do You Play?”, a reality television program which features what host Yoo Jae Suk does on his days off. He asked her to start a co-ed K-Pop group with him!
On the "How Do You Play" official Youtube Channel, fans were shocked by a sudden live broadcast - titled 'Please Give Us A Group Name', where it was announced that Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, and Rain will be forming a co-ed group named SSAK3! The name, when spoken, sounds like 'Ssak Sseul Yi', which means "to sweep everything clean" in Korean - indicating their desires to sweep the music charts!
The group even came up with brand new stage names, with Yoo Jae Suk electing to use the name 'Yoo-Dragon', an obvious reference to BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, Lee Hyori using the name Linda, an alter ego of herself who "owns over 200 businesses in Los Angeles", and Rain deciding between Bi Ryong' (flying/rain dragon) and 'Beat'.
There are rumours that the SSAK3 lineup is not yet complete, with fans suggesting that more members will be announced in episodes of the show, but the claims are unsubstantiated so far.
We wish SSAK3 all the best!!
